Already in the nineties the surroundings of Hackescher Markt established as a new gallery centre of Berlin. The formerly dilapidated quarter developed within a decade into a trendy district, where many internationally oriented galleries have settled as Sprüth & Magers, Eigen & Art, Neugerriemschneider, Michael Fuchs, Contemporary Fine Arts, Heiner Bastian. Nowhere else in Berlin one meets such a diversity of interesting contemporary art, but also shops and street art or art installations.
